Elegant set of French Louis XVI giltwood dining armchairs and side dining chairs featuring a giltwood painted aged finish. The set consists of two armchairs with padded arms in the style of French fauteuils, and six chairs in the style of Louis XVI. The lovely frames have a gracefully curved, round back crest with an intentionally aged patina on the painted finish. The chairs have carved symmetric motifs. The armchairs are upholstered with their original textured, petit point fabric that is vintage but still shows well and is very presentable and is bordered by small brass tack nail heads, and the side dining chairs have been newly reupholstered with a high end neutral fabric that complements the armchairs. All the chairs are sturdy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Found in France near Paris.
