    Striking antique French Limoges porcelain vase by La Porcelaine Limousine, richly decorated with hand-painted birds perched on branches against a luminous gold gilt ground with red geometric borders. The tall tapered form is finished with contrasting mottled gray glaze at the neck and base, beautifully framing the colorful avian decoration. The underside has a small crack and bears the green PL Limoges France factory mark, documented for La Porcelaine Limousine from the early 20th century, along with hand-painted decorator markings.  A wonderful example of antique Limoges porcelain, French hand-painted porcelain, bird motif pottery and gilt decorative ceramics.
