Antique Carved Sarcophagus Coffer, Trunk, Blanket Chest or Coffee Table

Antique European, likely Italian, sarcophagus shaped coffer, trunk or blanket chest that would also make a stunning coffee table. Could also be wonderful for lining storage in a bedroom at the foot of a bed. A wonderfully hand carved “coffer”, “mule chest” or trunk! Regardless of what you call it, this beechwood chest has superb hand carving on all eight sides. Very well done hand carvings, with acanthus leaves, arches and circular florets with riveted framing on all sides. Can go in the center of many rooms!
