Product Barcode Id: 00007537Wonderful solid oak display cabinet that serves as a buffet, sideboard or bookcase from the fabled Black Forest, where Germany, Switzerland and France meet! Dating from around the 1860s, made by a master carver and cabinetmaker in the sought-after Black Forest Renaissance or Gothic style, this type of furniture was only affordable by the upper class at the time. The upper body (which is removable if only the lower part is wished to be used) has two glass doors, with three spacious interior shelves. The lower body, encased with two large wooden carved doors, has two shelves. Lovely barley twist columns on either side of the upper and lower cabinet doors! Numerous beautiful hand carved details, including the two cabinet doors with birds, and hand carved lions or griffins. Wonderful quality in great original condition! Found in Normandy, France.
