Set of 8 Philippe Starck “Pratfall” Dining Chairs or Lounge Chairs
Product Barcode Id: 00005963Set of eight of the iconic armchair model "Pratfall" by Philippe Starck for Italian manufacture Driade Aleph, circa 1985. These distinctive three-legged chairs provide a slightly larger, deeply comfortable seat that wraps the sitter in a curved beech black lacquered back. The chair has a black metal tubular frame with black laminated plywood back and the seat is upholstered in its original steel gray tweedy fabric. They are sleek and are quite comfortable. Starck's famous design was deployed throughout the Café Costes in Paris in 1984 and produced by Driade/Aleph, a renowned Italian furniture manufacturer. He was the Art Director of the Pierre Cardin studio in 1969 where he designed 65 pieces of furniture. Philippe Starck's products represent longevity and durability, while characterizing an ability to bring cutting-edge design to everyday products. This set of chairs is all original and in vintage condition; please see photos! Bought at the Pier show in New York City; unsigned.
