Set of 8 Midcentury French Louis XVI Style Cane Back Dining Chairs with Two Armchairs

Wonderful set of eight French Louis XVI style dining chairs, six side chairs and two armchairs, with tall oval medallion backs in woven cane. Each crest is delicately carved with a laurel garland, and the molded frames rest on turned, fluted and tapering legs with the classic block-and-panel corners of Louis XVI design. The armchairs have gracefully curved arms on fluted columnar supports. A warm fruitwood-tone finish with a gentle distressed patina gives the set a relaxed, lived-in elegance. Fitted with cream seat cushions with a small rose shell motif (see photos for some minor stains). Pairs beautifully with our matching Louis XVI style parquetry dining table, #9192 (sold separately).
