Set of Five Early Ebony Queen Anne Rush Seat Dining or Side Chairs
Product Barcode Id: 00006121A boldly turned set of antique Queen Anne side chairs, circa early 19th century in early ebony paint. Chairs of this design are often called "fiddle-back" or "York chairs", and were made mainly in New York City, the Hudson Valley, Long Island and northern New Jersey (all these areas were settled by New World Dutch). From the strong stile turnings, slender fiddle-shaped back splat, rush seats, dipped crest-rail, hefty trumpet shaped front legs, elevated pad feet terminating in crook't feet, to the rare powerful front stretcher, this set of dining or side chairs is an excellent example of the beauty of the Queen Anne design.
