Paul Langlois (1858-1906) was an etcher and porcelain painter; of note, he worked as a landscape painter in the Manufacture de Sèvres in 1871, 1891, 1892 and 1897 but also in Rouen. His father, Polyclès Langlois was also a painter in the Manufacture de Sèvres between 1846 and 1872. A student of Alexandre Cabanel (1823-1889), he notably participated in the Paris Salon between 1876 and 1906 where he presented his painted works.
This stunning oil painting on porcelain is in very good condition, and the ebony frame highlights the lovely muted colors of blues, purples and green in the artwork. The colors and the harmonious composition of the landscape with its many details give the painting an atmosphere of serenity and sweetness of life that the painter perfectly transposed.
Coordinates with painting 00006191 also by Langlois; similar colors and frame: look wonderful together. Both sold separately and prices include shipping!
