19th Century French Empire Marble Top Commode or Chest of Drawers with Stunning Bronze Swan Pulls

Product Barcode Id: 00006018
$3,800.00

Found in the South of France, this exquisite French burled walnut commode from the early 19th century features a dark grey marble top over four drawers. The lower three drawers are recessed and flanked by elegant columns with bronze Doric capitals and bases, typical of the classical taste of the French Empire period. Each one of these drawers is adorned with two incredible swan pulls and a central escutcheon. The top drawer, ingenuously disguised as the apron on which the marble top sits, rests on the capitals. The undeniable elegance of the lines, warm finish of the wood, would make this French Empire chest, circa 1820 a wonderful focal accent to any room.
