This beautiful fireplace surround is a wonderful demonstration of wood carving. The fireplace is made from oak, which has been artistically carved back in the late 1700s. Simple yet classic, the fireplace was removed from a chateau outside of Avignon, France. The center and sides of the fireplace mantel feature a finely and intricately carved curved moulding in low relief. A very nice antique wooden fireplace mantel - this handsome antique classic French mantel is sure to be a crowd pleaser and great topic of conversation!
