Italian Period Burled Walnut Game Table, Side Table or Console Circa 1780

Italian Period Burled Walnut games/card Table, Side Table or Console Circa 1780. This very elegant table is made of walnut and is its top is beautifully joined burled walnut.  The table skirt and legs are highly carved Louis XV walnut, with cabriolet legs inset on top with a floral motif and the apron is centered with a shell motif. The table turns and opens to a larger playing surface with early original inlaid surface, including four round holders at each corner. Both the top surface and the game table surface are early veneers from the late 18^th Century, so have cracks and imperfections consummate with age (see photos for close up details). Beautiful, functional and versatile, this game table could also serve as a side table or console in any room.
