19th Century French Neoclassical Marble Top Commode or Chest of Drawers with Original Keys

A French Neoclassical commode, with marble top and exquisite brass accents, from the 19th century. This antique chest from France features a rectangular-shaped carrera marble top, over case which houses four drawers (upper drawer is disguised within the top frieze), flanked within a pair of rounded column style front side posts, a straight skirt, and presented upon rounded front feet and block style feet at rear. Beautiful brass accents adorn the chest all down its front facade; from the nicely decorated knob pulls and escutcheons on the drawer fronts, and the wrapped banding on the top and bottom of the columns.  Note that there is some discoloration of the original marble top, which is over 100 years old, which can be seen in the additional images. This 19th century French Neoclassical commode, with marble top and brass accents, will make a stately case-piece (with great storage and display potential) perfect for many rooms throughout the home. It comes with three beautiful original keys! Bought in the South of France.
