19th Century Large French Oak Farmhouse Table from Lyon, FranceProduct Barcode Id: 00004974
A spectacularly aged oak farmhouse table from the French countryside near Lyon, made around the early 1800s. The table has a marvelous top, is made of three boards, and has canted corners and breadboard ends. Two large sliding drawers reside in the table’s apron, allowing for unexpected, large and convenient storage. Each drawer front is outfitted with beautifully hand carved ringed knob pulls. The robust frame is stable due in part to its peg and hole joinery as well as the basal stretcher that braces the four legs. The chamfered legs and stretcher have been worn from almost two hundred years of shoes and boots resting on them while their people enjoy a nice meal. A brilliant table, full of French charm!
