This beautifully hand painted Italian Majolica plate is made of tin glazed earthenware, from the early 1800s. The mythological scene shows angels and cherubs in the sea, with mythical sea creatures. The border of the plate depicts a motif of possibly acanthus and floral leaves, with mythical man-like sea creatures, amidst framed faces, geese and urns filled to the brim with fruit. A solid linear border is on the outside, and metal holder has been attached to the back of the plate. This large and colorful Italian Majolica plate will be the highlight of any area.
