Early Italian 19th Century Antique Inlaid Walnut and Fruitwood Commode, Dresser or Chest of Drawers

Product Barcode Id: 00006420
$2,500.00

Louis XVI commode hand-made in Italy in the early 1800s or possibly late 1700s using walnut and pegged construction. The commode features three overlay drawers of roughly the same size, all showing beautiful hand-made dovetail joints, with the fronts decorated with patterned inlay of fruitwood and walnut veneer. The top is also decorated with the same lined brick motif, making this a very well balanced piece of furniture. This is a beautiful piece from Italy, and is a very well-built, versatile, functional and solid commode. The drawers are large, which provide plenty of storage space. This is a piece of furniture built to be both practical and pretty, and its subtle inlay patterned veneer adds significant depth as well as interest and softness to its overall very straight lines. This commode or chest of drawers will add class and will look wonderful in a bedroom, but also an entryway or a living room.
