Born in Montpellier, Nayral was an ophthalmologist by profession and a devoted amateur painter, musician and photographer, remembered locally as a friend of artists and an active member of the Galerie du Petit Montmartre, the Carpentras artists' circle. He also lectured on the history of the Vaucluse and was still exhibiting his work at 92. \"Morano\" appears to have been his mother's maiden name.
