french-louis-xv-style-carved-pine-writing-desk-table
French Louis XV Style Carved Pine Writing Desk or Dining Table with Floral Carved Apron

Elegant French Provencal Louis XV style writing desk or dining table with a generous knotty pine top and a beautifully carved base. The front and side aprons are carved with a garland of flowers and scrolling leaves above a softly scalloped skirt, and a single center drawer is tucked into the carving. Four graceful cabriole legs, each carved with a floral spray at the knee, end in scrolled toes. The light honey finish shows off the warm knots of the pine top and the strong grain of the base. With 51" of knee room, it works beautifully as a desk in a study or home office, and is just as lovely as a small dining table, a sofa table or a kitchen work table.

KEY FEATURES

Style / Period: Louis XV style, in the French Provincial manner

Wood / Materials: Pine top; carved hardwood base believed to be ash or elm, in a light honey finish

Construction: Single center drawer set into aprons carved with a floral garland and scrolling leaves, on cabriole legs with floral knees and scrolled toes

Top: Knotty pine planks with a molded edge

DETAILS

Country: Bought in the US

Condition: Very Good

Year: Late 20th Century

Dimensions: H 30.75” x H skirt 24.5” x W 58” x W leg hole 51” x D 29”

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0061/4924/2969/files/8811956F-1E0E-4787-B8CF-5A124F4A215A.jpg?v=1783281834
