British Antique Mahogany Leather Top Cooke's Writing Desk from Finsbury, England circa 1910

This beautiful desk has a wonderful aged patina and is quite solid, with two large dovetailed drawers. Crafted in the beginning of the 20th Century, it is paneled on all sides so can stand in the center of a room as well as against a wall. The mahogany has an excellent color and condition and the top of the desk features the original tooled leather skiver and all the original brass hardware is in place. The maker’s label (Cooke’s of Finsbury) is present on the drawer locks as pictured.

Cooke’s (Finsbury) Ltd was first established in London in 1885 and produced quality antique furniture and cabinets for both residential and commercial interiors around the UK. As you would expect with an antique of this age, there is some related wear which is commensurate with use and adds to the appeal and character of this item. The desk has been cleaned, polished and is ready for use or display.
